Editor's Viewpoint: Finding rings a memory Oliver will treasure for rest of his life

Editor's Viewpoint ·

Many small boys dream of finding treasure and eight-year-old Oliver O'Neill's dream came true when he caught sight of two rings on a Donegal beach. They were the wedding and engagement rings of a Dundalk woman who had lost them while on holiday.

It was a million-to-one chance that Oliver found the rings and the odds were also against him discovering the owner. But his father harnessed the power of Facebook and a very relieved woman was reunited her rings.

And for Oliver there was real treasure to keep - the lady gave him a very generous reward. That was one day the little boy will never forget.
